Job Description

 

Location: Pontypridd or Wrexham

Salary : up to £44,000

The Role

To provide technical advice and support on transport related matters including Business Case preparation and appraisal to our clients across a range of projects

Role responsibilities

  • Provide transport policy advice and guidance by preparing business cases, providing documentation and appraisals with reference to WelTAG to early-stage projects up to single option section to enable Transport for Wales (TfW) to provide Welsh Government (WG) and Local Authorities expert advice.
  • Support the delivery of a range of projects concurrently by meeting project timescales, liaising with the project team and using the supply chain where required to deliver the project to quality, budget and meet client requirements.
  • Support the management of stakeholder and client engagement on projects by facilitating meetings to obtain and share information to ensure TfW project can progress collaboratively.
  • Develop TfW Transport Planning project procedures by regulatory consulting and keeping abreast with changes to legislation and working with the supply chain to ensure TfW and its delivery partners are using methods of best practice. 

Who we're looking for

  • A Masters Degree in a relevant area such as Transport Planning, Urban Transport, Transport Planning and Engineering or evidence of equivalent experience working in a Transport Planning role.
  • Working towards Chartered Transport Planner e.g. TPP, ICE, IHT, CILT or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering a range of transport planning projects and/ or business case development.
  • Experience of to communicate technical arguments to technical and non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrable experience of applying the Better Business Case Five Case Model in relation to transport projects

 

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.

Cyfrifoldebau'r swydd

  • Rhoi cyngor ac arweiniad ar bolisi trafnidiaeth drwy baratoi achosion busnes, darparu dogfennau ac arfarniadau gan gyfeirio at Arweiniad ar Arfarnu Trafnidiaeth Cymru (WelTAG) ar gyfer prosiectau camau cynnar hyd at adran opsiwn unigol, er mwyn galluogi Trafnidiaeth Cymru (TrC) i roi cyngor arbenigol i Lywodraeth Cymru ac Awdurdodau Lleol.
  • Cefnogi'r gwaith o ddarparu ystod o brosiectau ar yr un pryd drwy fodloni amserlenni prosiectau, cysylltu â'r tîm prosiect, a defnyddio'r gadwyn gyflenwi lle bo angen, i gyflawni'r prosiectau yn unol â'r gyllideb, gan sicrhau eu bod o ansawdd da ac yn bodloni gofynion y cleientiaid.
  • Cefnogi'r gwaith o reoli ymgysylltiad â rhanddeiliaid a chleientiaid ar gyfer prosiectau, drwy hwyluso cyfarfodydd i gasglu a rhannu gwybodaeth er mwyn sicrhau bod prosiectau TrC yn gallu bwrw ymlaen mewn modd cydweithredol.
  • Datblygu gweithdrefnau ar gyfer prosiectau Cynllunio Trafnidiaeth TrC drwy ymgynghori rheoleiddiol a bod yn ymwybodol o'r newidiadau diweddaraf i ddeddfwriaeth a gweithio gyda'r gadwyn gyflenwi i sicrhau bod TrC a'i bartneriaid yn defnyddio'r arferion gorau.

  • Gradd Meistr mewn maes perthnasol fel Cynllunio Trafnidiaeth, Trafnidiaeth Drefol, Cynllunio Trafnidiaeth a Pheirianneg neu dystiolaeth o brofiad cyfatebol yn gweithio mewn rôl Cynllunio Trafnidiaeth.
  • Yn gweithio at fod yn Gynllunydd Trafnidiaeth Siartredig e.e. TPP, ICE, IHT, CILT neu gyfwerth.
  • Profiad amlwg o gyflawni amrywiaeth o brosiectau cynllunio trafnidiaeth a/neu ddatblygu achosion busnes.
  • Profiad o gyfleu dadleuon technegol i gynulleidfa dechnegol ac annhechnegol.
  • Profiad amlwg o weithredu'r Model Pum Achos Gwell Achosion Busnes mewn perthynas â phrosiectau trafnidiaeth.
