SLR is currently seeking a Transport Planner to join its Highways and Transportation Planning team in Nottingham. SLR’s Highways and Transportation Planning team undertake environmental assessment and transport planning work for clients across all development sectors; ranging from residential, commercial and mixed use development in the built environment sector, through to minerals and waste operations, power, infrastructure and more.

You will be given structured training in order to provide a range of support to the team undertaking these tasks, as part of a clear career pathway to becoming an Associate Transport Planner and working towards a Chartered Transport Planning Professional (CTPP) qualification. Whilst ideally we are seeking someone with knowledge / qualifications and direct experience within the Transport Planning field, we are also open to hearing from you if you have appropriate qualifications and a similar amount of experience as above in a related role, and a desire to develop a successful career in this essential planning discipline. Key duties
• Assist with the preparation of Environmental Statements, Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Provide input to junction modelling and undertake site visits across the UK
• Utilise your strong IT and communication skills and to apply your report writing, analytical and numeric skills in order to undertake these assessments/reports and to deliver associated project work
• Above all else, we are seeking a motivated and confident person, with the potential to learn and grow as your involvement in projects develops over time
What we are looking for
• A genuine interest in developing and progressing a career within Highways and Transportation Planning
• Degree level qualification (or higher) in an Engineering, Planning or Transport related discipline
• Recent direct experience working in a Transport Planning role or similar related role
• A full driving licence valid in the UK
Desirable
• Working knowledge of key software, such as TRICS, PICADY and ARCADY (Junctions 9 or 10), AUTOCAD and LINSIG
