Following discussion at the PDS Managers meeting in December, the TPS Skills Team has launched its web based system for first review applications. This provides a clear single point of entry and more efficient allocation to reviewers. This is set out in the new Advice Note 25_1.
The team have also updated its Advice Note 24_1 which clarifies the range of acceptable sources of learning and discusses the relationship between learning and experience. The latter is often misunderstood and the Note reflects the lessons learned from the review programme. There is no change to the review process and remote reviews will remain as the default option for both first and final reviews.
The revised Advice Notes are available to PDS licensees and can be accessed via the dedicated Manager and Mentor area of the website.
TPS Skills Director Keith Buchan said,
“We’ve been planning the web application for first reviews for some time and hope this will be an improvement for candidates and reviewers alike. We’ve had some further questions from users about the different ways in which learning can be achieved for awareness and knowledge and the updated Review Note should clarify this. We are committed to continuously improve the PDS and feedback from all our users is always welcome.”
