Vacancy – Public Transport Planner

Senior Consultant/Principal Consultant/ Associate level

ITP is an award winning and creative transport planning consultancy - with a clear focus on working in partnership with our clients to achieve more sustainable transport outcomes as a result of their projects.  We are looking for highly motivated and experienced public transport planners to join our team from Senior Consultant through to Associate level.

As a Senior Consultant you will be expected to:

• Assist in the delivery of public transport projects, including strategy development, network reorganisations, ticketing and pricing studies, concessionary travel scheme advice and administration, market research, demand forecasting, and business case preparation
• Work with a range of stakeholders at varying levels including the public, local authority officers and the private sector
• Develop leadership and management skills
• Contribute to our philosophy of excellence in everything we do

In addition as a Principal Consultant / Associate you will be expected to:

• Manage the above range of public transport projects
• Supervise and train junior members of staff
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Contribute to business development in public transport utilising an established network of industry contacts

The ideal candidates will have many of the following skills / experience:

• Creative approaches to dealing with complex public transport planning issues
• Good understanding of public transport policy and strategy issues
• Understanding of public transport operations
• Ability and flexibility to adapt to new work areas
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong report writing skills
