Job Description

We are now looking to recruit a motivated and experienced transport planner at Principal Consultant level to join our Public Transport Team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, people-orientated individual with specialist knowledge and experience of bus operations and a passion for improving public transport in the UK.  You will be given the opportunity to accelerate your career by working alongside industry experts, within an inclusive and caring company environment.

We expect the right candidate to be experienced in:

 -         Bus operations and/or network planning in the UK

 -         Designing, implementing, evaluating and administering ticketing and/or concessionary travel schemes

-          Managing sizeable projects to scope and budget

-          Knowledge and skills to extract and analyse data sets to derive valuable insights

-          The use of GIS mapping software and analysis of its outputs

-          Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, helping to secure new work

-          Inspiring and developing less-experienced members of staff by freely sharing knowledge

-          Contributing to other projects across the advisory group as required

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

-          Demonstrable experience of managing public transport projects in the UK

-          A deep understanding of transport policy and current issues and creative approaches to dealing with them

-          A growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals

-          Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

-          Excellent report-writing skills

-          Ability to manage several projects at once, delivering to time and budget

-          Ability to communicate detailed data analysis in an accessible way to a variety of clients/colleagues
