Could you be our next Graduate within our Transport Planning team?
In this role you will support the delivery of transport and planning policy by helping implement the Local Transport Strategy, contributing to the Local Development Plan, and assisting with transport assessments for planning applications. Key tasks include gathering and analysing data, carrying out initial development impact checks such as trip generation and junction capacity reviews, and providing clear feedback for senior colleagues. The role also supports the organisation and delivery of transport surveys, maintains related databases, and contributes to national transport data systems like TRICS through data entry and analysis.
In addition, the post prepares technical notes, data summaries, and GIS‑based mapping, ensuring findings are presented clearly and accessibly. It involves offering developing professional advice on transport matters, escalating complex issues when needed, and working closely with internal teams, partners, public bodies, and community groups. The role also includes attending meetings alongside senior officers and contributing where appropriate.
What we are looking for…
The ideal person for this role will have strong problem solving skills as well as a high attention to detail. You will have an HND or above in Transport Planning, Engineering, Geography, Maths, Town Planning, Project Management or other related discipline.
