YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
- Involvement in client meetings, project workshops, stakeholder engagement and design team liaison (both internal and external).
- Contributing and authoring planning application deliverables and transport strategies.
- Contribute to all types of development projects across all sectors and clients.
- Being active on several varied projects at any given time.
- The Manchester team will support you to develop your technical capabilities and support your career progression. We have an ample number of team members who have successfully completed internal development programmes (i.e. Client Confident Programme) and professional qualifications (CEng and TPP).
YOUR TEAM
The Development team in Manchester works on a wide range of public and private sector projects. Some current projects the team is delivering include leisure/sports schemes (Eden Project Morecambe/Dundee and Aston Villa), town centre regeneration schemes (Hind Street in Wirral and Red Bank Victoria North in Manchester), logistics schemes (last-mile multi-storey distribution centres and industrial units), energy projects (HyNet and Port of Tyne), retail schemes (Cheshire Oaks and Bootle Strand), and public sector-led transport strategies (Wythenshawe Park and Oldham Town Centre).
- Meeting the requirements of an Assistant/Transport Planner grade and have a proven track record of authoring technical work to support planning applications and transport strategies.
- Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.
- Ability to quickly synthesise new concepts.
- Able to work using you own initiative with (limited) supervision on all technical aspects.
- Ability to communicate both written and verbally to different audiences.
- Ability to assist/lead discussions with Clients, members of our project teams, co-professionals and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to share knowledge (and mentor others) in your areas of technical expertise.
- Experience in preparing traffic data information for use in a Transport Assessment and inform Air Quality and Noise Assessments.
- Experience in the set up and running of junction capacity modelling software (Junctions 10 and LinSig), and the understanding of inputs, outputs and scenario testing.
- Experience in authoring Transport Strategies, Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Experiences of carrying out and/or supervising conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals).
