Your role
As a Transport Planner, you’ll work to gain insight and knowledge from large datasets and information sources, synthesizing and distilling that insight into compelling evidence that helps shape the future of our transport systems. You will be required to be flexible and to have an ability to be proactive when required. As part of the Modelling & Analysis team, you will become familiar with many of the forecasting and appraisal tools that are commonly used across the industry and will work closely with internal partners throughout TfGM.
This is hybrid role where you will be expected to work in the office 2 days per week.
About you
First and foremost, you will need to have an understanding and enthusiasm for the BEE Network mission in Greater Manchester: namely, to develop a fully integrated transport system for the region that makes travel easier.
Alongside an enthusiasm for our mission, you will also have knowledge of (and interest and enthusiasm for) transport in general and transport planning in particular. At the analyst level, we will provide all training and mentorship required for you to succeed in this role - your studies will have equipped you to hit the ground running. At the planner level, you will already have started your career journey in roles that allow you to demonstrate your skills and experience in one or more of the areas of transport forecasting, transport appraisal, economic appraisal and data science.
