Trailblazer PDS success for Arup Apprentice

PDS Completion Photo Fran L

TPS is very pleased to announce that Fran Leonard from Arup is the first apprentice to complete the PDS and achieve the professional standard for Incorporated Transport Planner.  She can now use the post nominal IncTP.  Fran completed the Level 3 Technician Apprenticeship and moved straight on to the degree apprenticeship.  She used the PDS fast track method set up by TPS specifically for these apprentices.  She is based in Birmingham and is part of the picture of the growing number of successful PDS completions across the UK.  The pathway to TPP is also clear, 10 PDS completers have already achieved CTPP.

“I am pleased to share that I have successfully completed the Professional Development Scheme with the Transport Planning Society and have been awarded Incorporated Transport Planner (IncTP) status.

I am particularly proud to be the first Transport Planning Degree Apprentice to achieve this recognition, and I hope this paves the way for others to follow!

This milestone has been a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how I have applied my academic learning in professional practice and to evidence my competence as a Transport Planner. It represents a significant step forward in my career development, and I am incredibly grateful for the guidance and support I have received throughout this journey.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to my progress so far.”

"Many congratulations to Fran for completing the PDS, we welcome her to the growing community of transport planners who can now use the title Incorporated Transport Planner: IncTP.  We are excited to see the first result of the new apprenticeship routes to full professional qualification, which can continue through to Chartership.  These include the degree route such as Fran has benefited from, as well as the Technician/PDS pathway.  Degree apprentices in particular have the opportunity to complete sections of the PDS using their course work during the five year degree.  Fran took advantage of this process and we look forward to even more trainees following her excellent example.”
