Nominations open for our People’s Award

We have just launched the Transport Planning Day 2019 campaign with a call out for nominations for the People’s Award.

The awards were a great success last year in showcasing the amazing work transport planners are doing to improve communities’ quality of life throughout the UK. This year we want to continue to celebrate transport planning initiatives that show best practice in community engagement and would welcome your support.

If you know of a transport initiative that has made a positive difference to people’s everyday lives, please ask the local community, parish council, town council or individual responsible to make a nomination.

Perhaps you have worked on a project that is worthy of showcasing? Local authorities and transport professionals are welcome to enter the People’s Award, as long as the initiative has engaged the local community. So come on, get nominating!

We’re also encouraging TPS members to amplify the campaign messages by sharing our content on social media using the hashtag #TPDay2019. Please help us spread the word far and wide among your networks!  

We’re also delighted to be working with the Transport for New Homes project to develop new awards focusing on the importance of sustainable transport for housing developments.

The People’s Award entry will be open until 2 August, with the winners to be announced on Transport Planning Day (20^th November) at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London.
