New TPS survey explores how transport planners consider human behaviour

The Transport Planning Society’s Policy Planning Group for Influencing Travel Behaviour has launched a new survey exploring the role that behavioural thinking plays in transport planning.

The research will examine the extent to which transport planners consider human behaviours when developing and delivering transport interventions, and how this approach could be strengthened in the future.

The short online survey is seeking views from across the transport planning profession and will help inform a wider piece of research being undertaken by the group. Alongside the survey, the group will also be carrying out interviews with members of the TPS Policy Panel and the wider transport planning community to gather further insights.

The survey will remain open until 30th September, with initial findings expected to be shared at Transport Planning Day in November.
