The Transport Planning Society is delighted to congratulate Joely Hill on achieving Chartered Transport Planning Professional (TPP) status in May 2026 and being recognised as the Outstanding Professional Review Candidate.
Joely’s achievement is a fantastic example of the commitment, dedication and continuous professional development that underpin a successful career in transport planning. It also reflects the value of the TPP pathway in helping professionals to reflect on their experience, demonstrate their skills and continue to grow within the profession.
Alongside achieving Chartership, Joely continues to make wonderful contributions to both the transport planning profession and the Society, sharing her knowledge, supporting colleagues and helping to promote the importance of professional development across the sector.
Reflecting on her achievement, Joely said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to have achieved Chartered Transport Planning Professional status in May 2026 and to have been recognised as the Outstanding Professional Review Candidate. I’m hugely grateful to the many colleagues, mentors and friends who have supported me along the way.
“Having a mentor was invaluable, and I’ve been fortunate to have supportive line managers who enabled me to gain the breadth and depth of experience, knowledge and skills needed to successfully gain Chartership.
“I’d encourage anyone considering the TPP route to take the leap. It can feel daunting, time-consuming and challenging at times, and it certainly involved a few late nights and the odd weekend, but it was absolutely worth it in the end.
“One of the best things I did was keep a record of the projects I’d worked on and my CPD activities as I went along, which made preparing my submission much easier. It’s a fantastic opportunity to reflect on your experience and recognise how far you’ve come.”
TPS continues to support transport planners at every stage of their careers through professional development opportunities, mentoring, qualifications and pathways to recognition.
Joely’s success is an inspiration to others considering their own professional journey, and TPS encourages members to explore how routes such as TPP can support their career development and help strengthen the future of the transport planning profession.
Congratulations again to Joely on this fantastic achievement.
