Enabling access for all: A cross-sector conversation on inclusion

Picture1

The Transport Planning Society (TPS), in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), invites professionals from across sectors to an evening of conversation and collaboration on accessibility and inclusion in transport.

With the Integrated National Transport Strategy on the horizon, this event brings together voices from policy, planning, design, and lived experience to ask some timely questions:
How do we move beyond good intentions? What does it actually take to create a transport system that works for everyone?

The evening will open with a keynote from Fern Lulham, a passionate disability awareness advocate whose work challenges assumptions and highlights the real-world impact of inclusive (or exclusive) systems.

Fern will be joined by a panel of experts offering a range of perspectives:

  • Antoneta Horbury – Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation

  • Michael Barratt MBE – Transport for London

Together, they’ll explore the practical challenges and opportunities in making equity a core part of how we plan, design, and deliver transport.

This event is open to all. It’s particularly relevant for those working in or alongside transport, infrastructure, or the built environment - whether you’re a planner, policymaker, engineer, designer, or advocate - who want to help move inclusion from aspiration to action.
