TPS is pleased to announce the launch Transport Planning Day 2024.
See all the current vacancies.
Open to all those studying or working in transport planning, or related fields, on a professional basis.
The Department for Transport is looking to build on the Green Book Review (2025) and its current work in developing an Integrated National Transport Strategy, by running a series of nationwide roundtables to collect feedback on how senior officials in local government find the appraisal process and what their top priorities are for the next five years. The feedback will go on to inform the development of DfT’s Appraisal, Modelling and Evaluation Strategy (AMES) which will be published early next year.
What is the Appraisal, Modelling and Evaluation Strategy?
AMES will set out the Department for Transport’s priorities for improving the Transport Analysis Guidance over the next five years. The strategy will update the Department’s Appraisal and Modelling Strategy (2019) and the Evaluation Strategy (2022).
Would you like to submit feedback on the appraisal and evaluation process?
DfT would welcome feedback from members of the Transport Planning Society who have an interest in improving appraisal, modelling and evaluation methods and to have your say about the future of Transport Analysis Guidance. We invite our members to fill out the following short survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/amesfeedback/
