The current composition of the Society's Board is as follows:
Dominc is a Strategic Transport Manager with Hampshire County Council. He is responsible for scheme development, local transport policy, and Solent Transport. He also has a lead role on liaison with the two LEPs in Hampshire.
Stephen is Associate Director in Arup’s Consulting Team based in London. He coordinates Arup’s TPS Professional Development Scheme in the south of England, and is a trained PDS mentor. His TPS Board roles include policy and communications.
Keith was Director of the MTRU consultancy and has over 30 years’ experience as a transport planner in a wide range of roles. The previous Chair of the TPS, he has been leading on policy issues including “Agenda for Change”. In July 2015 he became TPS Director of Skills.
David is Director for Innovation in SYSTRA in Edinburgh. He qualified for the TPP qualification via the Senior Route in 2011. For the TPS Board, he is responsible for regional and national events and strengthening the role of TPS in Scotland.
Tiff Lynch is Infrastructure Strategy Manager at Bexley Council, working primarily on infrastructure to support Bexley’s future growth strategy. She has held a variety of private and public sector roles, mainly involved in large development projects and regeneration-supporting transport initiatives. She is keen to improve and grow TPS’s social media presence and to develop further the Society’s role in raising the profile of the profession.
Tim worked for Scott Wilson before spending 34 years with Mott MacDonald, rising to Divisional Director. Now retired, and having wide and varied experience, his Board roles cover Bursaries, policy and raising the profile of transport planning in Ireland.
John helped deliver South Hampshire’s LSTF programme and is now LB Lambeth’s Transport Strategy Delivery Lead. He’s a mentor for the TPP qualification, Vice Chair of the TPS-RTPI Transport Planning Network, and supports the skills work of the Society.
Joanna Ward is a Principal Transport Planner at Morgan Tucker Consulting Engineers, where she leads on Sustainable Transport projects. She has worked all over the country but is now based in in the East Midlands. Her TPS board roles include sitting on the policy group and encouraging women in Transport Planning.
Martin is an independent transport planning consultant working in the fields of sustainable transport policy, demand forecasting, travel behaviour research, pedestrian movement analysis and economic appraisal. He is the branch representative for TPS in London and assists the Board with event planning.
Alan was a local authority town planner from 1967 to 1996, latterly with Birmingham CityCouncil where he was responsible for both the City’s Unitary Development Plan and its Integrated Transport Strategy, and also led the first RPG, RTS and LTPs in the region. Since 1996 he has worked with SQW, MVA and independently on planning, transport, housing and economic development projects for public bodies and environmental groups, and has been a Visiting Professor of planning at Newcastle and Birmingham City Universities.
Christopher Blake is a Senior Transport Planner for JMP Consultants and joined the Board in September 2014. He has been involved in the Society since 2011 having been the Regional Rep for the East of England and, more recently, the West Midlands. Chris is keen to see the TPS regions strengthen, particularly in the organisation of high-quality CPD events for members.
Formerly MD of PTRC, is the TPS Development Officer and is responsible for liaison with Stakeholder and Corporate Members, the monthly e-bulletin, skills, careers, the Annual Dinner and for the job vacancy and training event sections on the website.
John is the most recent TPS Chair and provides support to the current Chair.
Nick is a former TPS Chair and supports the Board on policy matters. He’s a Technical Director at Mott MacDonald focusing on transport strategies and managing the company’s PDS. He’s also a Director of CILT(UK), chairs the Board of PTRC.
Brendan provides the secretariat function for TPS.
