As one of the world’s leading engineering, professional services and technical consultancy firms, at WSP, we’re passionate about the big questions. And big answers, naturally. For us that’s all about reaching beyond the expected to do work that’ll make a profound impact felt long into the future.
WSP’s Transport team in Liverpool is growing quickly, working closely with colleagues in our highway and development teams, plus with other disciplines and offices. We have a range of exciting projects from town centre redevelopments, masterplans and corridor studies through to parking studies, transport assessments and strategic analysis of scheme proposals. Our client base is expanding and is made up of a mix of private and public sector organisations.
A key part of our offer evolves around being able to provide clients and co-professionals with clear, concise technical and non-technical inputs to our reports, presentations and project work. We are looking for an experienced (ideally with at least 2 years post-qualification working experience) person to be able to supply the team with a range of skills that support delivery of our varied workload. We aren’t just looking for someone to turn up and be told what to do though – we see this position as an exciting opportunity for someone with creativity and ideas to play an important role in taking the team forward and to make a real positive difference to people’s lives, both locally and across the UK.
Most of our work will be in the North West of England, however a willingness or interest in working further afield when needed would be helpful. While much of the role will be office based a willingness and ability to visit sites and feed into wide team discussion is required. This role is one where we see there is significant opportunity for the person to grow their skills, experience and knowledge as the team continues to expand, with support and advice from a range of experienced professionals in the team.
We are looking for someone who has existing knowledge of traffic and transport work, in particular experience of concept scheme designs using tools such as AutoCAD, respecting and understanding design rules and regulations.
We'd love to hear from you if you have experience and interest in:
What if we can?

So, if working from home, working part-time or having flexible start and finish time will help with this let us know as part of your application.
As well as rewarding you with competitive pay, WSP offers standard benefits including a 37.5 hour working week, 25 days annual leave, pension schemes, life assurance, personal accident cover and paid professional subscriptions, and some not so standard benefits as part of our flexible benefits scheme – so if you would like to hop on a new bike (cycle to work scheme) or thrill the family with your Lego building skills (Discount at Legoland Windsor) – WSP can help!
Be you, be happy - we strive to have a friendly and inclusive culture which respects and maximizes the contribution individuals can bring to WSP. We recognise the benefits that people with varying backgrounds and experiences can bring.
