What we do

Our Transport Planning team deliver innovative solutions to contracts across the UK in central and local government as well as the private sector. We work in partnership with a wide range of other skilled professionals across the business to plan and deliver sustainable and realistic transport solutions which shape the future of our towns and cities.  We model, plan, analyse and improve road layouts, public transport, travel and the environment to suggest the best possible solution to any changes that may impact the transport and travel network. Our aim is to find the safest, most efficient, economical and environmentally friendly way of transport and travel and we aspire to provide the best public service.

What we’re looking for

Experience is something you build as you go along so don’t worry if you are still a little new to our industry. As long as you’ve got the passion and enthusiasm to learn and develop, we’ve got the tools and opportunities to help you along your journey.

The list below will give an idea of the sort of experience that would be great for those who want to join us: 

• Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate discipline, eg Geography, Planning

• Some experience working in Transport Planning, ideally in consultancy

• Membership or working towards membership with a relevant professional body

• Experience and knowledge of transport/economic appraisal techniques and guidance

• Experience using modelling techniques and assessment software such as Junctions 9, LinSig or similar

• Experience using network Transport Planning software packages such as VISSIM, VISUM, SATURN, EMME or similar

• Excellent report writing and communication skills
