Associate / Associate Director Level Transport Planner

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced transport planning professional with 10 - 15 years’ experience to take a lead in growing our development planning capabilities in the South West region. You will be working with our existing team of bright-minded transport planners to help them find like-minded clients, colleagues and collaborators with whom we can do good work.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they care about creating more sustainable places in the way that they approach their work, and thrive in an environment where teamwork, collaboration and creative thinking is openly supported.  Reporting directly to our Head of Development Related Transport Planning, you will be given responsibility for company growth in the South West region - including business development, staffing, project delivery, and client liaison.  As such you will be expected to:

  • Provide transport planning inputs to private sector development planning projects
  • Build on a well-established network of industry contacts and positive client referrals
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Manage, develop and inspire our established team in Bristol
  • Monitor and report regularly on your progress

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Management of Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans and input to EIAs
  • Highway design and transport modelling experience
  • Creative, insightful approaches to dealing with complex transport issues
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent report-writing skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Public inquiry/EIP experience
  • Chartered Engineer and/or TPP qualified
