About The Opportunity:

As the Jacobs Cities & Places team, we create thriving places across different scales - from regions to cities, neighbourhoods to individual buildings and all through an integrated design approach. We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon our strengths and develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.

Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients, both nationally and internationally.

We are looking for a passionate and solution orientated individual to join our Streets and Networks team based in our London Bridge office. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience leading the development of sustainable transport, placemaking or road-space reallocation schemes, working with clients and project teams across the UK and globally. Successful candidates will have an inclusive mindset and experience collaborating with a range of stakeholders to shape a compelling case for intervention against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving market.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

. A creative, solution-oriented individual with a strong technical background in traffic engineering, urban design or complete streets

. Knowledge / understanding of LinSig, Junctions and VISSIM microsimulation software, data requirements and the interpretation and presentation of modelling results

. Experience overseeing the delivery of models in accordance with TfL’s Model Auditing Process

. Excellent report writing, presentations and workshop delivery skills, with the ability to draw on a variety of tools to communicate complex issues concisely and effectively

. Flexibility to manage your workload, support and mentor colleagues and assist with new business opportunities and be aware of emerging trends and the future evolution of the industry

. Experience of project and client management, covering programme, resources, finance and quality

. Promote thought leadership, knowledge sharing and staff training

. To be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

. Have achieved or be working towards Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional qualification e.g. CIHT, TPP, CEng
