Our Development team is seeking a Senior /principal Transport Planners to join the team UK wide. The role will include a range of projects from commercial, retail, and residential through to Local Development Framework Representations and support with Expert Witness evidence.  We support private sector clients with taking development proposals through the planning process.  The team works closely with our Highways, Services, Structures and Environmental teams on larger multi-disciplinary development. proposals.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?

  • Day to day technical input into a variety of projects as well as project management of some projects depending on your level of experience and size of the projects.
  • Providing support to a number of senior staff as well as developing your own project management and commercial skills.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Have experience of access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport, S106 agreements, S278 agreements and guidance such as NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets etc;
  • Experience of runing smaller projects with limited supervision;
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to speak to Clients, and other members of project teams and liaise with local authorities and discuss various project issues which may arise;
  • Technical competence and ability to mentor others;
  • The ability to set up and run PICADY’s and ARCADYS and have a lot of experience doing so and be able to mentor others in these programmes;
  • An understanding LINSIG and can carry this modelling out for different scenarios, understand what they are doing and why;
  • Some experience at complex junction modelling for example TRANSYT;
  • An understanding the principles of microsimulation and strategic models/modelling i.e. experience of PARAMICS, VISUM, VISSIM and SATURN or similar beneficial;
  • Capability of carrying out junction design (priority, roundabout, signals);
  • Confidence in excel, word, TRICS, TEMPRO. Have knowledge of accession, GIS; and
  • Experience of preparing traffic flow information for use in a Transport Assessment and Environmental Statement.

You will be an experienced Senior Transport Planner with significant knowledge and hands on post graduate experience.  Ideally you will have or be approaching chartered status and have ideally completed an MSc in a transport related discipline.
