This role is based in any of our offices across England and Wales.

 

Your new role, what's involved?

 

  • Undertaking a lead project management role on public sector projects from concept through to submission of final deliverables
  • Being active on a number of projects / client accounts at any given time
  • Supporting the development of further business through client relationship building, excellent delivery and bidding activities
  • Providing proactive leadership to secure all round collaborative, cooperative and harmonious working relationships, with clients, colleagues, and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key clients based upon achievement of excellence in service provision with high levels of technical competence and client satisfaction.
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant standards and policies; raise WSP profile by networking, and attending conferences.
  • Mentoring colleagues with less experience and creating opportunities for success.
  • Delivering to agreed personal targets.

 

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

 

  • A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related subject is essential.
  • An MSc in Transport Planning/Engineering is desirable.
  • Chartership in any of the following: CEng or TPP (desirable)
  • Detailed understanding of contemporary transport policy and practice and be able to convert that understanding into practical solutions for our clients (essential)
  • Knowledge of appropriate transport planning guidance and best practice (essential)
  • Significant experience of delivering a wide range of transport planning projects (essential)
  • Experience of working with local authority and regional bodies in the South West (desirable)
  • Significant experience of development funding bids and business cases (desirable)
  • Highly numerate with strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking (essential)
  • Significant experience and capability in financially and programme managing projects (essential)
  • A flair for translating complex problems into elegant solutions and delivering and demonstrating this value to our clients (essential)
  • Leading and delivering stakeholder engagement activities (essential)
  • Experience of operating as a lead client contact for consultancy services (essential)
  • Experience of team management responsibilities e.g. line management and operations (essential)
  • Client experience desirable
