Lecturer in Transport Studies

Job Description

The Centre for Transport and Society at University of the West of England (UWE) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Transport Studies to contribute both to teaching programmes and research. Details and application processes can be accessed here. The closing date is 13th February 2022.

We are looking for someone who can contribute to teaching on the MSc Transport Engineering and Planning which includes modules on transport economics and appraisal, transport planning, transport modelling, travel behaviour, transport policy and infrastructure design. CTS has a wide portfolio of research and we are particularly keen for the post-holder to contribute to current projects evaluating the impacts of transport interventions such as shared mobility schemes, electric micro-mobility, on-demand public transport and mobility-as-a-service.

UWE Bristol’s Centre for Transport and Society (CTS) is a research centre with the aim of furthering understanding and influence on the interactions between mobility, lifestyles and society in a context of technological change. Our research themes include the following: sustainable transport policies and solutions; travel behaviour, lifestyles and the life course; societal change, technology and transport futures; social impacts of transport; and transport infrastructure and design. Our current research projects include a number of projects linked to new technologies (automated vehicles, sustainable urban freight, micro-mobility), national and regional evaluations of sustainable transport interventions, young people and transport, and projects developing approaches to appropriate infrastructure design and implementation.
