Peter Brett Associates – Consultant of the Year
Peter Brett Associates has been awarded the ‘Consultant of the Year’ in the category for those with between 250 and 2,500 staff, by the New Civil Engineer (NCE) magazine and the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).
A Stakeholder member of the Society, Peter Brett is chaired by Keith Mitchell, a past Chair of the Society and the first Chair of the TPP Professional Standards Committee.
The NCE reports that ‘Peter Brett has much to be proud of in its recent performance’ and quotes Keith as saying ‘that the company has an ambitious growth strategy to increase staff numbers from 450 to 800 over the five years from 2013’.
Keith told the Society ‘We are delighted to be recognised in this way. It is a great reflection on the skills and determination of the people that work at PBA to deliver an excellent service to our clients. We have remained committed to recruiting and training graduates and technicians, maintaining the appointment of 20 - 30 graduates a year through the recent recession, with about 40 staff engaged in secondary degrees.
We operate six core professional development schemes, including the TPS Professional Development Scheme, involving about 60 technical staff; and by the end of this year will we will have about 18 people on apprenticeships. Five off our staff have been awarded the TPP qualification and two are elected Board members of TPS. This reflects PBA’s commitment to supporting the development of our people, and our dedication to promoting our profession and advancing its contribution to society.’
