Assistant Transport Strategy Officer

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Transport Strategy Officer who will be involved in a range of exciting projects to help us to deliver our Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2040 (see www.tfgm.com/strategy) and to respond effectively to the opportunities presented by Greater Manchester’s ambitious plans for economic prosperity, carbon neutrality and further devolved powers. You will be joining a well-established team that will provide you with opportunities to further develop your skills and experience.

In this role you will support a varied programme of work that contributes to our vision for ‘World class connections that support long-term, sustainable economic growth and access to opportunity for all’. You will gather evidence to help us understand how travel trends may be changing, and you will also have the opportunity to help shape future interventions across a range of travel modes.

You will objectively analyse a wide range of data sources, produce and present succinct summaries, and embrace collaborative working with stakeholders from across the GM community.

You will have an active interest in transport planning and place making, be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have an appreciation of local and national transport and planning policy. You will also be enthusiastic and adaptable, with strong analytical, research and communication skills. Some experience in the use of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) would be valuable, but this is not essential.

The salary range for this role is £23,578 to £32,269 Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
