Customer Success Associate - Transport Planner

Job Description

About Podaris

Podaris is a fast-growing software startup in the transport and urban planning sector, aiming to change the way the world plans its cities. Our mission is to bring together all stakeholders in the urban development process -- planners, engineers, transport technology vendors, public interest groups, property developers, and more -- in a shared modelling environment, where ideas can be iterated in a rapid and agile fashion. We have created a web-based collaborative transport planning platform which incorporates aspects of GIS, CAD, transport simulation, and more.

The platform is being used by customers around the world, from large-multinational private campus owners, to global consultancies, to local authorities and transport operators. They use Podaris for everything from bus network redesigns, to the planning of new innovative multi-billion pound fixed-infrastructure schemes.

Our small team makes for an inclusive, interdisciplinary, and intellectually stimulating environment. We value diversity and welcome candidates from non-traditional backgrounds. The UK/US-based team has been working remotely since before the pandemic.

About the role

We’re looking for a Customer Success Associate with hands-on experience as a transport planner, modeller, or engineer. You may have worked in a consultancy or local authority and be familiar with transport planning concepts like bus route design through projects such as feasibility studies. You've at least dabbled in many different kinds of design/planning/engineering tools, and have some experience with GIS in particular.  In addition to being especially knowledgeable about transport planning and operations, and having a great aptitude for teaching yourself new tools and techniques, you find it easy to talk to urban planners, architects, civil engineers, and more.

At Podaris your focus will be to assist in training new customers and supporting existing customers in their projects through the platform. These may be projects within the UK, or high-profile projects across the world, giving you the opportunity to interact with many different disciplines and senior decision-makers.

Specific responsibilities

  • Learning all aspects of our platform, to a very high level of expertise
  • Supporting our customers by responding to queries and helping them make best use of the platform for their specific project’s needs.
  • Leading training sessions to our customers as part of their initial onboarding and continued support.
  • Working closely with the development team to beta-test new functionality, improving documentation and training materials.
  • Generating content for the marketing team through the creation of case studies and topical transport-related articles.
  • Assist with relevant product demonstrations to prospective customers as part of the sales process.
  • Develop excellent relationships with new and existing customers to ensure they are delighted with Podaris, and help identify opportunities for additional sales.
  • Completing one-off transport data or analysis tasks for customers working on projects within Podaris.

About you

Essential

  • Experience in transport planning or modelling which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities (literacy, numeracy, communication).
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Experience preparing reports on analysis and presenting findings to clients or stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of at least one design/planning/engineering tool, and have some experience with GIS.
  • Familiarity with transport data formats such as TransXchange and GTFS.
  • Highly motivated, independent, positive and fully engaged in the pursuit of personal and business objectives.
  • Strong desire to understand our customers and improve their day-to-day experience of the product to help them achieve their desired results.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with transport modelling software such as CUBE and VISSIM.
  • Experience working with consultancies, local authorities, and transport bodies.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high growth, technology focused organisation.
  • Ideally experience of customer service or training.
  • An interest in different modes of transport, in different environments, and geographic settings.

What we offer

  • Rare opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic mobility software startup.
  • The chance to support customers on interesting and challenging high-profile projects across the world.
  • Competitive pay with an equity component.
  • Flexible remote location and hours.
  • Remote-first team with opportunities for travel (when safe).
  • As a small team, we can consider putting in place other benefits if important to you - please ask!
