Job Description

AECOM continues to expand its successful and established Development team in Ireland and require a Consultant to join the Dublin office.  Our established Development Transportation team currently has a vacancy for a civil engineer (or related degree).The opportunity is based in AECOM’s Dublin office, which has an established track record of successfully delivering transport schemes both locally and across Ireland and the U.K. Our wide range of clients includes developers, retailers, landowners, housebuilders, blue-chip companies and Universities. AECOM’s Transportation team in Ireland has consistently expanded in recent years. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local and national development transport and highways projects, providing our staff with a variety of exciting projects to deliver. A selection of recent projects includes innovative and nationally significant projects such as;Strategic land use appraisals and strategic master planning advice for developers, local authorities and government agencies on key strategic development schemes;Retail projects both non-food and food;Numerous appraisals, transport assessments and Mobility Plans for mixed-use, retail, commercial and residential development;Highways infrastructure design projects;Travel planning advice for Colleges and Private Developers.Feasibility Studies;Car Parking Studies.

As a Senior Transport Consultant, your responsibilities will include: Successfully run and managing your own Development and Transport Planning Projects. Provide high-quality advice to clients on transportation matters and identify solutions to their issues. Deliver project work within timescale, budget constraints and quality expectations. Monitoring financial status and progress of projects to ensure delivery on time, to budget and Client’s satisfaction. Working to objectives both financial and technical; Establishing strong working relationships with other internal teams within AECOM’s transportation division. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering innovative solutions to transport issues relating to development projects. As a Senior Transport Consultant, you will be responsible for project work within timescale, budget and quality expectations. You will be proficient in the delivery of development transport projects to the satisfaction of clients and be able to lead project delivery with minimal supervision.You will be an excellent communicator and able to work closely with both private and public sector clients as well as multi-disciplinary teams. Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to deliver transport planning projects.
  • An excellent all-around knowledge of all aspects of transport planning for developments from strategic appraisal through to transport assessments and traffic engineering.
  • Good technical experience, including familiarity with relevant software e.g. LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY and AutoCAD, Auto Track.
  • Experience of applying relevant design guidelines such as DMURS and TII in developing new road, cycle tracks and footpath designs;
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary design team, and have excellent communication skills with architects, clients and planning consultants; 
  • Understanding of and experience of working in the Planning Regulatory framework, and knowledge of planning and transport policy as applied to development.
  • A solid track record of having worked on a variety of transportation planning projects;
  • A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and ideally a member of a relevant professional body;
  • Clean driving license.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A graduate in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning, related subject or equivalent with experience of transport planning in directly related fields.
