The Company:
Although being known for engineering, Network Rail is a company of many disciplines, working on some of the country’s biggest infrastructure projects.
Our dedicated Station Capacity team specialises in assessing station layouts in relation to people movement. We use specialist pedestrian simulation techniques and software to identify capacity issues related to station structures. We work on both short and long term projects, from small to large, across the various project stages.
The position:
We are looking to recruit a candidate with significant experience in pedestrian planning and modelling. In the role, it will be necessary to have a good work ethic, to work successfully as part of a team, and to want to make a difference in their work!
Being part of the Station Capacity Team, you will help in the redesign and planning of some of the UK’s busiest stations. There are multiple vacancies on this level. You will be the Station Capacity lead on a programme which means you will form a close working relationship with the relevant stakeholders and advise them on demand forecasting to be used for stations on the route as well as what the station capacity requirements are for the stations on the route. You will also be looking after a region. You will be liaising with our Strategic Planners and Commercial Scheme Sponsors and provide day to day advice on station capacity issues.
The role is based in our London office at 1 Eversholt Street but you may work out of your regions office from time to time.
