Intelligence and Analytical Officer

Job Description

Are you keen to apply your analytical skills to help improve transport in Greater Manchester? Are you seeking a unique opportunity to support TfGM’s Transport Strategy team by collecting, managing and interpreting the intelligence required to deliver and evaluate the success of the Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2040?

As Intelligence Officer within our Research and Evaluation team, you will focus on generating insight from quantitative primary and secondary data sources, and communicating this to ensure an evidence-led approach to shaping future sustainable transport provision in a fast growing and changing city-region.

You will have the ability to see the bigger picture, making sense of often complex and technical data working with colleagues from across TfGM and external partners; and to objectively assess what intelligence is required to support effective decision-making.

You will have a proven track record in the analysis and interpretation of quantitative data, with experience in specifying and managing data collection programmes, and generating insight via combining multiple data sources.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be able to communicate data insights effectively to maximise levels of engagement with a range of different audiences. Experience in transport or public data would be desirable.

The salary range for this role is £33,201 - £44,620.  Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:

  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.

If you believe you have the skills and experience we’re looking for we would really like to hear from you!

Interview dates: 15th, 18th or 23 April
