Associate Director

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced transport planning professional with over 15 years’ experience to take a lead in all aspects of company growth in the South West region working with our existing team of bright-minded transport planners to help them find like-minded clients, colleagues and collaborators with whom we can do good work.

Reporting directly to ITP’s Board, you will be given autonomy to lead all aspects of company growth in the South West region - including business development, staffing, project delivery, and client liaison.  As such you will be expected to:

• Build on a well-established network of industry contacts and positive client referrals
• Proactively grow ITP’s presence and workload in the South West region
• Lead a technical area of expertise within ITP
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Manage, develop and inspire our established team in Bristol
• Monitor and report regularly on your progress

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

• Expertise in at least one technical area of expertise within/complementing ITP’s work areas
• A track record of successful business development in the South West of England
• Creative, insightful approaches to dealing with complex transport issues
• A deep understanding of current transport policy and issues
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• TPP qualified (or similar)
