Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our Traffic and Transport team as a Principal Transport Planner in our Newark or Nottingham office.You will manage and provide technical support into assigned projects for the successful delivery of challenging Transport Planning schemes.

We operate across a range of marketplaces so you will have the opportunity to gain experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of projects which will enhance your skills and test your technical knowledge.You will work in collaboration with other disciplines and acquire the knowledge and practical skills required to succeed.

Responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead on transport assessments, transport modelling and travel plans.
  • Identify and analyse feasibility for traffic and transport planning projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations relating to projects, in line with Company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice.
  • Manage and develop junior members of staff.

Skills and Knowledge

  • You will hold a degree level qualification to Bachelor level or higher in a relevant field of study.
  • Experience of writing technical reports, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Experience using junction modelling software including ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig.
  • Experience using other related software including TRICS and TEMPRO.
  • Ideally you will have experience using AutoCad and AutoTrack.
  • Ability to apply technical principles including codes of practice and standards.
  • Competent IT skills including using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience of developing work winning opportunities.

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious.
  • A good self-manager of time and work.
  • Strong team player with an energetic outlook that motivates others.
