Senior Transport Strategy Officer

Job Description

Are you seeking an opportunity to influence long-term transport strategy in the fastest growing city region outside of London? Transport for Greater Manchester’s Transport Strategy Directorate is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Strategy Officer to join our Strategy Team.
You will be involved  in ( see www.tfgm.com/2040 ) a  range of exciting projects within the Directorate to help us to deliver our Greater Manchester 2040 Transport Strategy (see www.tfgm.com/2040) and to respond effectively to the opportunities presented by Greater Manchester’s devolution agreement.
The work you will be leading on will help us to answer some of the big questions we are currently facing, such as: How might changes in travel attitudes and behaviour among different socio-economic groups affect future demand for transport? How can we maximise the benefits of major new national infrastructure, such as HS2? How do we develop a balanced, long-term transport delivery pipeline to meet the wide range of economic, social and environmental challenges we will face over the next 25 years?

You will be enthusiastic and adaptable, with proven experience of scoping, delivering and effectively communicating studies and research to support development and delivery of transport strategy. Experience in transport research, strategy or policy development work is essential.
