Transport Planning Day 20 Follow-up: Decarbonisation Challenges and Covid-19 Implications for Transport - An International Perspective

About this Event

TPS North East Region are delighted to host a follow-up event to the Transport Planning Day 2020 campaign event of last November.

This free online event, open to both members and non-members, will feature guest speakers discussing topics based on the TP Day 2020 Theme of Climate Change, including discussion regarding Decarbonisation Priorities and Transport during and after the Pandemic. This time we take an international view, with speakers discussing implications for Barcelona, Spain and Dakar, Senegal.

Confirmed speakers are:

Xavier Sanyer, Head of Mobility Service, Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM), Barcelona; and

Mouchili Mayoua, Transport and Connectivity Team Lead, Islamic Development Bank, Dakar;

Xavier will be discussing the Barcelona Mobility Masterplan, which was launched last year with a key aim to transfer journeys towards more sustainable modes of transport across the wider Metropolitan Region of Barcelona and immediately faced unforeseen challenges with the impact of the pandemic.

Mouchili will provide a broader view focusing on an emerging environment in Senegal, discussing multi-modal infrastructure projects being funded by IDB including the Dakar Regional Express project.
